Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 Platinum is $200 Off During Backcountry’s Summer Sale
We’re big fans of Big Agnes. In fact, our very first ultralight tent–before UL tents were more widely available–was a Tiger Wall UL2 that we got at an REI garage sale (when those were still a thing pre-COVD).
Now through August 22, Backcountry is offering up to 50% off end-of-season items, including the Tiger Wall 3 Platinum at 30% off, or about $209 off the original price. There’s still plenty of time in the season take this thing for a spin in the backcountry before it gets cold out–or if you’re like us, you know how to sleep comfortably in a 3-season tent in the dead of winter, even in a hammock.
What Makes It Platinum?
With a fast-pitch weight of only 1lb 15oz and a trail weight of 2lbs 9oz (which includes the rain fly and stakes), this thing is incredibly lightweight and packable. It includes a single DAC pole which assembles into a cross pole and poles for each corner, held together by shock cord. DAC is a modern material thats durable and extremely lightweight, and contributes heavily to the weight savings. The tent is also made out of partially recycled materials with no added PFAS.
Who is this for?
Because this tent packs up so small (19″x5″), I would recommend it for almost any backpacker–even solo. It may be a little overkill for space if you typically go out alone, but it does give you plenty of space to spread out and even keep your backpack inside instead of leaving it in the vestibule.
For 2-person expeditions, we frequently suggest 3-person tents because they give you plenty of space to change your clothes, play games during rain storms, and organize your gear, even with someone else inside.
So go check the Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum 3 out on Backcountry’s website. It’s a great time to find awesome deals before the end of the summer season.
